Lianxi River sediments (area C, Xikuangshan)
Hunan, Zijiang River basin, China
Sediments
- Type
- Sediment
Surface sediments of the Zijiang (653 km, tributary of Dongting Lake) and its mining tributaries, in the Xikuangshan antimony belt (Longshan, Xikuangshan, Gutaishan, Zhazixi and Banxi deposits); sediment Sb mostly anthropogenic, with little isotope fractionation along the river (dilution and adsorption on Al-Fe oxides without notable effect) according to Liu et al. (2024). Sampling coordinates in Table S1, not supplied. Downstream of the Xikuangshan smelter, plant and dumps; Sb from 111.52 to 817.68 mg/kg (468.23 on average). The abstract and text give 3.12 ε as the minimum, the table 2.12 ε: only the latter agrees with the mean and maximum.
