Acid mine drainage
- Type
- Acid mine drainage
Banpo antimony mine (Guizhou): 26 waters sampled in the Dajiagou Creek, which crosses the waste heaps, in the Chahe River, which receives the processing tailings, and in the Qisha tributary; Sb up to 1427 µg/L and sulfate up to 1926 mg/L. Dissolved sulfate δ34S follows Sb and sulfate in the Chahe (r = 0.68 and 0.89): a tracer of the pollution extent; isotope budget: about 59 % of the sulfur of the lower Chahe comes from the mine (Ning et al., 2011). Waters from the mine workings, the most sulfate-rich (322 to 1926 mg/L); δ34S close to stibnite. Coordinates not published.
