Acid mine drainage
- Type
- Acid mine drainage
Niujiaotang zinc mine, mined on a large scale, in carbonate karst terrain. Waters stay alkaline (pH 8.6 to 9.0): mine drainage matters little, anthropogenic zinc mainly travelling with fine tailings dust dispersed by wind (19.5 % on average). Neutral to alkaline mine drainage, zinc about 1.7 mg/L. Indicative coordinates.
