Waters of northern Chile in the ignimbrite area of the Altiplano-Puna volcanic complex (Schmitt et al., 2002), neutral to slightly basic, 10 to 300 mg/L B, δ11B of -4.6 to +5.7 ‰ close to the ignimbrites: boron leached from local volcanic rocks, whereas brines of the eastern Puna and Eastern Cordillera, on basement, range from -18.3 to -10.4 ‰ (Kasemann, 1999). Coordinates not published. Hot spring of the El Tatio geyser field, 60 °C, pH 7.2, 128 mg/L B.
