Reference section from the middle Frasnian to the basal Carboniferous, deposited in a partly restricted intrashelf basin (Mo drawdown by particulate shuttle): Lower and Upper Kellwasser horizons (Frasnian-Famennian crisis), Annulata and Hangenberg levels. Percival et al. (2019): initial 187Os/188Os rises from about 0.42 to 0.83 at the base of the Lower Kellwasser, from 0.31 to 0.81 below the Upper Kellwasser and from 0.20 to 0.53 in the Annulata shales, a sign of pulses of continental weathering; values near 0.4 to 0.5 at the Frasnian-Famennian boundary, as in North America. Active quarry: the exact section of earlier studies is no longer accessible.
