PorphyriesCu-Mo
- Type
- Collision-related porphyry copper (Cu-Mo)
Westernmost porphyry system of the Gangdese, about 5 Mt of metal at 0.5 % Cu on average, not mined. Monzogranite porphyry (14.8 ± 0.2 Ma) and monzogranite (14.1 ± 0.2 Ma) coeval with mineralization, with diorite porphyry enclaves and dykes (13.1 ± 0.2 Ma); abundant tourmaline as disseminations and veinlets. Zheng et al. (2024): three tourmaline generations from -10.5 to -5.1 ‰, mixing of an oxidized dioritic magma and a granitic magma.
