Xiaotunxiang (fluorite-antimony)

Guizhou, Zhenfeng County (Qianxinan Prefecture), axis of the Zhenfeng anticline, China

Other hydrothermalF, Sb

Type
Large fluorite deposit with deep antimony bodies, as concordant bands in the Maokou limestone and a silicified tectonic alteration body (Sbt)

Fluorite deposit (more than 1.28 Mt of ore) on the axis of the Zhenfeng anticline, closed by the north-west-trending reverse faults F1 and F2; antimony bodies recently found at depth, about 50 km from the Qinglong (Dachang) district. Simple ore: stibnite (over 95 % of sulfides), minor pyrite (including sedimentary framboids), quartz and fluorite; Middle Permian host (Maokou limestone) below the Longtan Formation. Peng et al. (2023): stibnite strongly depleted in 34S (-28.40 to -22.44 ‰, mean -25.33 ‰), far from the other deposits of the South China antimony belt (-14.9 to +16.8 ‰): sulfur reduced by bacteria (BSR) from marine sulfate before mineralisation, since fluorite formed at 100-176 °C (Dai et al., 2018); stibnite precipitates where an Sb-rich fluid mixes with a fluid rich in light sulfur. Coordinates not published.
