Type: Brecciated auriferous quartz lode in itabirite

Historical deposit of the Ouro Preto gold rush: brecciated quartz lode cutting the itabirite layering at low angle, gold associated with tourmaline in goethite pockets formed by sulphide oxidation; age assumed around 500 Ma by analogy with the Passagem de Mariana lode. Pimenta et al. (2024): dravitic tourmaline from -21.3 to -8.8 ‰, crustal boron from metasediments, possibly with a non-marine evaporitic component.
