Magmatic (Ni-Cu-PGE, carbonatites)Ni-Cu
- Type
- Magmatic Ni-Cu sulphides (conduit-type intrusion, orogenic setting)
Conduit-type deposit of about 20 Mt of sulphide ore, massive and net-textured ores. Sulphides systematically lighter in nickel than the bulk silicate Earth: sulphide liquid derived from an oxidised parent magma that dissolved much light sulphide in its source, possibly deep cumulates complementary to the sheet-like mineralisation at Hulu according to Ma et al. (2025). Chalcopyrite gets lighter as its Fe/(Fe + Cu) decreases: prolonged fractionation of the Cu-rich liquid. Coordinates not given.
