Toondana

South Australia, Flinders Ranges, Australia

OtherZn (Pb)

Type
Hypogene nonsulfide zinc deposit (willemite)

Flinders Ranges, the deformed and uplifted northern Adelaide geosyncline, hosted in Neoproterozoic to Cambrian carbonates. Highly radiogenic lead, anomalous relative to the Holmes-Houtermans and Stacey-Kramers models, attributed to the U- and Th-rich basement; nonsulfide and sulfide deposits fall on one line, hence genetically related.
