Magmatic (Ni-Cu-PGE, carbonatites)P-REE
- Type
- Ultramafic-alkaline and carbonatite complex with phosphorus and rare earths (apatite)
Giant P-REE deposit: 51.1 Mt P2O5 and 157,400 t REE, at 3.46 % P2O5 and 0.09 % REE on average (Wang et al., 2023); P and REE carried mainly by apatite. Biotite, fluorapatite and calcite-K-feldspar-amphibole clinopyroxenites, cut by syenite and carbonatite dykes, emplaced around 463-467 Ma (titanite U-Pb). Jiang et al. (2024): carbonatite titanite with negative δ49Ti (-1.78 to -0.49 ‰), syenite titanite with positive δ49Ti (+0.18 to +0.62 ‰), read as immiscibility of a carbonate melt and an alkaline silicate melt from one ultramafic magma.
