Volcanogenic massive sulfidesAu (Fe)

Type
Gold-bearing pyritic sulfides in metavolcanic rocks

Au (Fe) deposit of Cambrian (?) age in a dominantly metavolcanic terrane, metamorphosed to amphibolite facies. Palmer and Slack (1989, Table 2): tourmaline at -2.05 ‰. Tourmalines of this kind of terrane range from -15.71 to -1.49 ‰ in the article; according to the authors, the boron source (continental crust, entrained seawater, evaporites) matters more than the formation temperature.
