Magmatic (Ni-Cu-PGE, carbonatites)Fe-Ti-V

Type
Magmatic iron-titanium-vanadium in a layered gabbroic intrusion

Layered gabbroic intrusion of about 260 Ma linked to the Emeishan province, holding a large share of Chinese Fe, Ti and V resources; marginal, lower (Fe-Ti oxide layers), middle and upper zones. Lv et al. (2024): whole-rock δ51V from -0.82 to -0.49 ‰ in the lower zone, -0.35 to +1.70 ‰ in the middle zone; parental magma about -0.83 ± 0.19 ‰ (marginal and upper zones); oxide layers attributed to silicate liquid immiscibility.
