Tibet, Ngari Prefecture, Gar County, China

Other hydrothermalSb

Type
Quartz-stibnite veins and lenses in Triassic slates

Abunabu antimony district, in the west of the Tethys Himalayan metallogenic belt, about 164 km south-east of Shiquanhe (Gar County, Ngari); over 100,000 t Sb at 4.93 %. Two orebodies as veins, beads and lenses in sericite slates of the Qiongguo Group (Lower to Middle Triassic), along fault F3; stibnite with minor pyrite and arsenopyrite, quartz and sericite gangue. Li et al. (2023): stibnite fluid inclusion noble gases of crustal type (3He/4He of 0.02 to 0.35 Ra, less than 6 % mantle helium) with argon from air-saturated meteoric water (40Ar/36Ar of 296 to 321); slightly negative sulfur (-4.9 to -3.5 ‰), of deep origin, shared by both deposits. Coordinates not published.
