Haynesville Shale produced water
Northwest Louisiana and East Texas (mainly Red River Parish), United States
OtherLi (gaz)
- Type
- Lithium-bearing formation water of a Jurassic gas shale
Produced water of the Haynesville Shale, with 16 to 125 mg/L lithium (71.7 mg/L on average) for a salinity of 55 to 206 g/L. Lithium is autochthonous, in equilibrium with the illitic clays of the shale, and follows a diagenetic pathway distinct from that of the underlying Smackover Formation. Low water production makes it a secondary lithium target. Indicative coordinates.
