Furong tin field (unspecified location)
Southern Hunan (Qitianling pluton), China
Other hydrothermalSn
- Type
- Tin disseminated in chloritized granite
Large, recently discovered tin deposit (reserve about 600,000 t, Wei et al., 2002) in the Furong phase of the Qitianling granite (520 km², alkali-rich, metaluminous); cassiterite disseminated in chloritized granite, with rutile, scheelite and sulphides. District record for the granites of Zhao et al. (2011) sampled near veins no. 10, 19 and 43, with no named deposit; see also Bailashui (vein no. 19) and Goutouling. Zhao et al. (2011): δ11B and δ18O decrease from fresh to chloritized granite, first by magmatic water exsolution above 450 °C, then by meteoric water circulation at about 300 to 350 °C.
