- Type
- Hydrothermal cassiterite (greisens and veins related to Variscan granites)
A historic tin district, worked since the Bronze Age. Mineralisation is associated with the Variscan granites of the Cornubian batholith (about 280 to 275 Ma), as cassiterite-quartz veins in greisens and stockworks. Historic mines include Dolcoath, Geevor and South Crofty.

| Value | Range | n | Mineral or matrix | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2.3 ± 0.2 ‰ | cassiterite District mean, with a standard deviation of 0.2 ‰. A critical point: Cornwall and Erzgebirge values are similar, so poorly discriminating for archaeometric provenance.
