Sar Cheshmeh

Kerman (southeast), Iran

PorphyriesCu-Mo (Au)

Type
Cu-Mo porphyry (Urumieh-Dokhtar magmatic arc)

The largest copper-molybdenum deposit in Iran, with reserves of 1,200 Mt at 0.7% Cu, 0.03% Mo and 0.06 g/t Au. The Miocene stock consists of diorite, granodiorite and quartz monzonite emplaced in several magmatic-hydrothermal pulses. Molybdenum concentrated early and copper later.

206Pb/204Pb isotope ratio, no unit Values of the same system

Standard : NIST SRM 981

ValueRangenMineral or matrixSource
18.6sulfides (concentrates, without strong phyllic alteration)
Value described as fairly uniform in the abstract, with no precise range in the sources consulted. Two samples cut by sericite veins are more radiogenic.
